Cat has a terrible problem. He wants to go outside, play in the grass, and get some fresh air! But Dog, who lives next door, barks loudly and scares him. It always ends in nothing but a terrible spat! Now Cat lives at the window and door, constantly on the lookout for Dog and a moment of peace in his favorite spot--outside. One lucky day, while inside, Cat hears the snap of a mouse trap, and he meets Mouse, who has watched Cat's problem with Dog from afar. Now in quite a problem of his own, Mouse has to do some quick thinking and talking to get out of this trap that he's in. Maybe the smallest of the three creatures can figure out a way to solve everyone's problems--or maybe not. Join Cat, Mouse, and Dog in a lively children's tale of problem solving by master storyteller Fred Olds with rich illustrations by debut illustrator Vivian Brown. It's another rhyming tale of the pets we love and can't live without in Fred's Perky Pet Problems book series for kids. Children will not realize they are learning the important life skill of problem solving which is reinforced with comprehension questions on the last page. Giggle with your child over Cat, Dog, and Mouse!
