The book analyzes religious practices that are dimensioned through symbolic spatial forms. The research emphasizes an interpretation of a socio-spatial phenomenon, represented by the state headquarters of the Universal Church in Ceará. The main objective of this work is to understand the socio-spatial structure of this church as a sacred space for the faithful. To this end, the following specific objectives were listed: to distinguish the religious, administrative and media activities that exist in the construction of the sacred space of the temple; to identify the geosymbolic elements that transform the church into sacred space in the perception of the faithful; to understand the symbolic spatial forms in the relationship between the practices of the temple and the formation of a symbolic centrality of experience for the faithful in search of the sacred. The sacred space of the central temple of the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God, in Fortaleza, is for the faithful a center of symbolic convenience, the sacred being the religious feeling of response to the rites practiced there collectively and/or individually, composed of various symbolic functionalities that refer to social objectivities in the lives of the faithful themselves.
