Conchas is a professor of educational policy and social context at the University of California, Irvine, and is the interim chair of the department of chicano studies, acting associate dean of social sciences, and visiting professor of sociology at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Nancy Acevedo is an associate professor in the Department of Educational Leadership and Technology at California State University, San Bernardino, and a recipient of the 2019 American Educational Research Association Latina/o/x Research Issues Emerging Scholar Award.
