Joshua Joannides was raised in a Christian family and exposed to various sects of Protestantism throughout his formation: including most prominently Baptist, Evangelical, and Independent Bible Churches. Throughout his upbringing and religious education, Joshua was regularly acquainted with and participated in full-frontal attacks against Catholicism without ever much more of an explanation than the varying degrees of private interpretation which emanated from the Protestant Reformers. As an adult, Joshua also spent several years in a Reformed-Presbyterian church where doctrinal dilemmas with readily identifiable contradictory premises to Scripture abounded. Although a "proof-text" was always readily in hand to support a particular viewpoint, Joshua's deep love of and exposure to Sacred Scripture throughout his life meant that to embrace such doctrines would be to accept that the authors of Sacred Scripture were in contradiction, and as a result, so too God Himself. Amidst the decades of anti-Catholic Sunday School classes, Discipleship in the selective use of Scriptures, and Ministers that insinuated and sometimes outright even stated that the Theology of the Apostles was wrong, the seemingly unsolvable disagreements and interpretations of Sacred Scripture kept crying out to search deeper for God and the true Church spoken of by Paul in Galatians 1. Joshua frequently felt challenged for greater reverence and devotion not only in his personal life but also in his religious life and after an invigorating acquainting with the Apostles, and a divine message of grace and challenge spoken in love, he began a wide-eyed journey into the Catechism of the Catholic Church where he encountered the Lord in a way he never anticipated. With the aid of antiquity but more than anything else, the mercies of our Lord, Joshua's eyes were opened, like Cleopas', and like so many before him, Joshua has been brought home. This book was written to provide a passenger experience into Joshua's journey through Church history, Sacred Scripture, Sacred Tradition, and the Church Fathers in order that those, Catholic, Protestant, or simply curious about the broader Christian tradition, who want to know more of the richness of faith handed down from Christ through the Apostles would understand the one and true Gospel of Christ that has been provided to and through the Catholic Church since Christ's Ascension, always under the divine protection of the King.
