The City of the Gods by Jason A. Patterson When the god of free will declares war on the gods of fate and destiny, the battleground isn't the heavens; it's Earth. And the weapon is a child. Chelise never asked to be chosen. Struggling through the fractures of a broken family, she suddenly finds herself at the heart of a cosmic wager. Is life ruled by destiny, or can it truly be shaped by choice? Guided by guardian angels and hunted by forces beyond her understanding, Chelise is thrust into a dangerous journey where every decision carries divine weight. As gods watch from above, some rooting for her, others plotting her downfall, she becomes humanity's test case in the eternal struggle between chaos and control, good and evil. Epic, thought-provoking, and deeply human, The City of the Gods is a gripping tale of faith, courage, and the timeless battle between fate and free will.
Autorenporträt
Dr. Jason A. Patterson is a practicing Orthopedic Surgeon residing in Arizona with his wife and three children. He is making his debut with The City of the Gods, not having written so much as a paragraph since high school several decades ago. Inspired by his children's love of Greek mythology and his wife's many personal experiences growing up, Jason was motivated to write this book for his family and posterity with the hope that others may find the story relatable in some way. As one who has always been interested in religion, Jason wanted to incorporate this massive subject into this fictional story. His love and passion for medicine, sailing, and flying were also influential throughout the book. Having grown up in a divorced home, both Jason and his wife have felt that external factors that are out of our control do not have to define us. We can all write our own story and make our own fate with the free will God has granted each one of us.
