Wanjir¿ Warama was born into a large peasant family in rural Kenya, where she grew up in the 1950s and 1960s. Educated in Kenya and the USA, she now writes biographical and historical books that enlighten, entertain, and inspire.She is a passionate philanthropist, especially in education. She has adopted Git¿ra Secondary and Git¿ra Primary schools in Kenya, where she helps with supplies and incidentals. Wanjir¿ never saw a library until she finished high school. Her dream is to sell enough books to help build a library for the two schools where children-just like in her youth-have never seen a library. Ms. Warama is a lifetime member of the Friends of the Library, the Rotary Club, and the San Diego Writers and Editors Guild. When she is not involved in the writing and production of her books, she enjoys walking, playing pickleball, socializing, or enjoying a meal with friends.She lives in California, USA.
