Marcus Amaker is a dad, husband, and the first Poet Laureate of Charleston, SC. An award-winning poet, musician, and opera librettist, his work appears on five Grammy albums - as both a writer and designer - and has been recognized by the Kennedy Center, NPR, and PBS. He's published 12 books, released 40+ albums, and was inducted into the S.C. Literary Hall of Fame in 2024. He takes daily naps.
