Saffron Bruno is from Saint Charles, Illinois, and it was there that her creativity flourished. She has always been interested in nature, particularly bees. She started her artistic journey at a very young age. But along with her art came something deeper. Depression affects many people, and Saffron was no different. In her first short story, 'the color yellow, ' she wanted to express how depression affects young children specifically. A mood can change as quick as the seasons. With the right help and support, Saffron was able to overcome her struggles and find happiness in her art again. She hopes through her stories, like 'the color yellow, ' children and parents can breach the divide when it comes to talking about their emotions.
