Intrafamilial sexual violence against children and adolescents is an intergenerational problem and one of the greatest social challenges of our time. In recent decades, the phenomenon has come to light due to the recognition of social rights by public protection policies. However, it is known that incidents of this type of violence have strong historical roots in primitive behaviour. Addressing the family context of sexual violence against children and adolescents with a view to combating it requires social protection services and combined strategies through the coordination of the social assistance protection network in partnership with families. In other words, to effectively intervene in the problem, social protection agencies need the help of families, as they are understood to be the main social institution responsible for providing sustenance and education to their members and exerting significant influence on their behaviour and social interaction. It is therefore up to them to offer security and protection to individuals, especially during childhood and adolescence.
