This book presents theoretical and practical aspects of the textual writing process. Writing texts is not an easy task, but this modality of language is essential to the practices of communicative interaction between people in the modern world. It is up to the school to concern itself with the teaching of text, so that students can have the foundations to carry out any and all writing required of them with autonomy. Text processing involves the mobilization of linguistic and pragmatic knowledge. In view of the diversity of knowledge related to written production, we have specifically discussed the use of repetition and lexical substitution procedures. We then looked at texts produced by elementary school students to see whether these procedures can actually achieve continuity and progression in the text. To this end, it is understood that continuity is related to the discursive focus and progression to the flow of information built up in the text. More than revisiting theories, this research aims to contribute to increasingly meaningful textual writing practices.
