"Mom had a brother she's never mentioned, who died a couple of months ago. She says he was...bad." Bud Anderson's surprise that he has a long-lost uncle is matched by his discovery that the man has met an untimely end. With claims by Bud's mother that her brother was a bad child ringing in their ears, Cait Morgan joins her husband in accepting Uncle Jonas's invitation - from beyond the grave - to visit Amsterdam, where he'd built a life for himself, founded on his passion for art. Once there, they meet members of Jonas's close circle of friends...but quickly realize that not everything is as it appears to be on the surface. Soon, the couple's suspicions grow that the group was bound together by more than its shared love of art, as does their certainty that Jonas was not the man his friends are portraying him to have been. This is the SECOND EDITION of the seventh Cait Morgan Mystery, in which our justice-driven Welsh Canadian criminal psychologist and her retired-cop husband have to work out who is painting the correct picture of his late-uncle's life...and what secrets are being masked by a group of people whose comfortable lives might be at risk now that he's dead.
