I. Vicente was born in New York City and grew up in the boroughs of the Bronx, Queens, and Manhattan. After graduating from Newtown High School, he attended the City University of New York at Baruch College where he studied Journalism and was a Reporter and Features editor at the college newspaper. His first two books, The Courage to be Different and Divergent Lives, are inspirational stories of family strife and how to overcome adversity. They reinforce the belief that with courage anyone can move beyond fear and prosper in life.
