Parallel Dimensions, Dreamscapes, and the Dark Ages... An anthology of fantasy tales from the author of Ravenseed. Gabriel, a lonely teenage boy living with his strict Jehovah's Witness mother, is visited in dreams by a mysterious paper girl. On a spiritual plane between life and death, a struggling writer tries to contact her comatose father. Amid a world torn apart by civil war, a girl faces soul-threatening danger when her stepfather wants to cut out her eyes. In two prequels and a sequel to Ravenseed, a farmer, a knight, and a mysterious woman each make perilous quests in magical forests. As they journey deeper into the woodland, they journey deeper into themselves, confronting darkness, danger, and demons. Filled with adventure and romance, mystery and monsters, triumph and tragedy, The Dark Forest Within is a riveting collection of fabulous tales, and a must-read standalone companion piece to Ravenseed. Includes Papercut, An In-Between Christmas, Window of the Soul, Wulfric's Quest, Winged, and Bloodmire.
Autorenporträt
I was born the year Steven Spielberg made moviegoers everywhere terrified of sharks. I lived the first twenty or so years of my life in Oxford, and am pleased to have spent so much time in the place where some of my favourite writers wrote their greatest works (including JRR Tolkien, CS Lewis, and Philip Pullman). I like to think I can write a diverting tale, and as a result I have penned a few novels and short stories. I currently live in Plymouth in the UK, and am married with two children. I am presently brainwashing them with the same books that I loved growing up.
