Lake Eildon in North-Eastern Victoria provides the backdrop to this exciting story of a group of school friends who decide to spend their summer holiday camping and rafting on this popular lake. Jeremy Williams, a self-confessed nerd, is backed up by three fiercely loyal friends. Sam Dillon, a carpenter in the making, whose quick wit, fiery temper and good looks make him popular with the girls at school. Daniel Graham, tall like Jeremy and destined to follow his father into engineering. Last but not least, Harry Turner, a pint-sized boy, who like Sam, is blessed with model good-looks and a love of food and cooking. In the background, a bunch of career criminals are playing a waiting game, for the furore of a major robbery to die down, so they can finally collect the loot and start living the dream. These two very different parties make preparations for their time at Lake Eildon. The boys balance their final days at school with building the raft and making all the preparations for their holiday. The antagonists pack the tools of trade for criminals, guns and false names being the order of the day. After making the lake their home, the boys relax and take in their surroundings. When a day's urban exploring uncovers a king's ransom in cash, the fuse is lit for an adventure without parallel.
