After retiring from a legal career, J.L. Buck published sixteen urban fantasy novels under the pen name of Ally Shields. In 2019 she switched to a genre she'd read all her life and began work on the Viscount Ware Regency Mystery series. She lives in the Midwest with Latte, a mischievous Siamese cat, and Pippin, an energetic Min Pin puppy. Both have been known to play with the keyboard (thus adding extras to her manuscripts) or luring her away to play with them.When not writing or running two blogs, Ms Buck enjoys her eight grandchildren (and one great-grandson), reading (preferably on a sunny deck), travel (USA and abroad), and binge-watching any sub-genre of mystery shows
