This book is dedicated to Alan by the author (Wisey) in gratitude for his steadfast friendship-a friendship that created a bond which has lasted over 70 years. More importantly, the relationship recognizes and honors Alan's triumph over the circumstances that led to his having to make "The Decision." As of the writing of this article, Alan is at peace with himself, one with God, and lives quietly, helping others in Riverdale, The Bronx, NY. Who among us would not long for the inner peace that Alan found? Yet, how many of us would be willing to sacrifice everything-our material possessions, our freedom, our family, and friends-to achieve it?
