3f, 3m Kelly, an optimistic young woman, arrives in the big city. Some seasoned realtors, Paulie and Jamie, help her find an apartment in an affordable, but marginally safe neighborhood. When Kelly winds up dead, a pair of unconventional detectives, Beemb and Riches, show up at the real estate office searching for suspects. Paulie is questioned, his secretary-and-sometimes-girlfriend Mel encounters a crisis of faith, and Kelly's grief-stricken sister Lea comes to town seeking revenge or closure, whichever comes first. The crime is solved, but the unsettling questions it raises - of community culpability and bottom line blame - remain. The Deer and the Antelope is a dark comedy about law and disorder; a who-didn't whodunit; an offbeat look at the hidden costs of making a living.
