Murder, Minerals, and Mystery... Geologist Penelope Lake is about to debut the biggest discovery of her career-a dazzling new mineral-at a high-profile gala hosted by the Sierra Springs Natural History Museum. But her excitement turns to horror when her friend Tessa, owner of the town's charming candle shop, is found murdered on opening day of the Spring Festival. Everyone in town has been raving about Tessa's new Amethyst Falls diamond-infused candles-the festival's latest show-stopper. But when the sparkling display turns into a crime scene, Penelope finds herself pulled into an investigation that hits dangerously close to home. With the town's two newest detectives questioning her mother as their prime suspect-detectives who happen to complicate Penelope's love life in very different ways-and a mysterious black SUV following her around town, the stakes couldn't be higher. Armed with her scientific mind and her trusty husky puppy Jasper at her side, Penelope must put her analytical skills to the ultimate test. Can she solve the puzzle of Tessa's murder before the killer strikes again? Or will her debut as an amateur sleuth also be her finale? The Diamond Murder is the first book in the charming Penelope Lake Mystery series, perfect for fans of small-town secrets, smart women sleuths, and a touch of sparkle with their suspense.

Tracy Diane was born and raised in Princeton, West Virginia. She grew up swimming and playing in the band. It wasn't until her twenties that she realized how much she loved a good story. Tracy attended Furman University planning to be a business major. Since Furman is a liberal arts school she had to take science and chose two geology classes during her freshman year, which changed her path. After receiving a Bachelor of Science in geology from Furman she went on to receive a Master of Science degree in geology at the University of South Carolina. Tracy worked as an environmental consultant for many years, and then she took her love of rocks and minerals and turned it into a small business. Mini Me Geology's line of rocks, minerals, and fossils keep her busy when she is not writing her new Crystal Cave Adventures series. Tracy lives in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina with her two kids, their very large Great Pyrenees, Brutus, and cute cat, Brooks.
