Literary production in the Amazon is still little known and disseminated, but it has been widely studied by academia. These writings analyze two literary works produced in (and about) the Amazon: "Belém do Grão-Pará", by Dalcídio Jurandir, and "Seringal", by Miguel Ferrante, in order to reflect on the relationship between social history and literature, since these novels are set in the context of the exploitation of elastic gum in the Amazon, which took place at the beginning of the 20th century. In this way, the considerations made about these literary productions revolve around narrative elements that interconnect to produce meaning, such as space and character, revealing a play of dialogues between paths, silences, fiction and historiography. This book, therefore, represents a contribution to a literature of excellence that is still neglected by the reading public and by specialized literary critics.
