Lascelles Abercrombie (1881-1938) was an English poet, critic, and pivotal figure in the Georgian poetry movement of the early 20th century. Born in Ashton upon Mersey, Sale, Cheshire, Abercrombie cultivated a style marked by both its embrace of traditional epic forms and its innovative modern sensibility, exploring themes of nature, mythology, and human psychology. He received his education at Malvern College and went on to study at Victoria University, Manchester.
