This book lays out in clear biblical and specific ways how the kingdom of God can effectively intersect with the kingdom of this world. The author first laid out the dark forces in the churches' engagement in the so-called cultural wars, like storm force winds blowing at the doors of the church to influence its message, change its historical methods, corrupt its mission. It identifies the crises in all three areas. The author contends that by and large the so-called cultural wars waged by sections of the evangelical church have been lost in the real mission of the Christian church. The book does not linger long here, but rigorously lays out the biblical mandate and methods for the church to regain its purpose and mission of Christ in the world. This is the goal of this book. From the start, the author understood this was an extensive undertaking to stand like John on the island of Patmos looking at visions of the modern church and to write a manifesto as if to say for God, "I see you." I see what a large and influential segment of the church is doing, which, I contend, is hurting the cause of Christ and His Gospel today. But also, to say that I see what is needed to again influence the culture to turn to Christ. To give, as did John, a clear voice to defy the confusions and uncertainties and communicate effectively the Gospel of Christ to a lost world. This goal would seem impossible, to see a revival of the Gospel in secular culture, like the great revivals of the past. Except the ancient prophets said, as did Peter in the revival of Pentecost, "In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams" (Acts 2:17). This book is a dream path to the reality of a revival of the Gospel in our times.
