Originally from Jasper, Alabama, Al Blanton is a graduate of Mississippi State University and the University of Alabama School of Law. After coaching basketball and teaching for seven years, Al moved to Selma, Alabama, to become a writer. He is the current owner and publisher of 78 Magazine, a biographical magazine focused on inspiring people of the American South. Al's favorite biographical pieces combine sports, faith, and personal trial.
