An overview of the historical development of scriptural authority is provided. Several different philosophies will be examined in this book and will be compared with one another on how they relate to Scripture. These include the charismatic movement, liberal theology, Roman Catholicism, Eastern Orthodoxy, dispensationalism, Open Theism, theistic evolution, and certain strains of evangelicalism. We shall see that the reason extra-biblical authorities are given currency is because the authority of the Scriptures themselves are cast into doubt.

Autorenporträt
Matthew Cserhati has a Master of Arts degree from Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. He is the author of Franciscan High School (2015), Atheism Unraveled (2016), Refuting Rome (2017), Climbing the Wall of Luo (2018), and A Critique of Provisionism (2024). He also superintends adult Sunday school at Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church in La Mirada, California, and takes part in their outreach program.
