A delightful follow-up to the New York Times bestselling The Fly Who Flew to Space! Follow Flynn the fly on an unforgettable glow-in-the-dark adventure under the sea! This beautifully illustrated picture book explores the ocean’s wonders while encouraging kids to embrace their curiosity—wherever life takes them. When Flynn takes a wrong turn on the way to Cape Canaveral, frustrations fly. But what starts as a misstep soon becomes a grand voyage of discovery. Author, pilot, and philanthropist Lauren Sánchez takes young readers on an undersea adventure filled with breathtaking biodiversity and the power of self-acceptance. From coral reefs and mangrove forests to undersea mountain ranges and a giant squid—Flynn explores an array of natural wonders, brought to life with lavish illustrations by Raleigh Stewart. Flynn discovers how much there is to learn about the precious planet we live on. At the back of the book, young explorers will find even more STEM fun with a special Undersea Glossary, introducing fascinating sea creatures and key scientific concepts. And with a jacket that turns into a poster, a glow-in-the-dark page, and a super-sized fold-out spread, Flynn’s adventure is more exciting than ever—making this a must-have for curious minds and ocean lovers alike!
Long before Emmy Award-winning journalist, pilot, and philanthropist Lauren Sánchez Bezos was a NY Times best-selling children’s book author, she was a little girl with big dreams. Growing up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, she looked to her father, a former flight instructor, and dreamed of one day becoming a pilot. Watching him ignited Lauren’s passion for aviation. After a long career in journalism, Lauren finally got her pilot’s license in her 40s—proving you are never too old to chase your dreams. Years later, Lauren can see her own kids looking to the sky with wonder. That experience as a mom, coupled with her love of storytelling and adventure, motivated Lauren to write The Fly Who Flew series. Lauren hopes this new adventure will inspire kids to follow their dreams and see that learning differences can be a superpower.
