M. Benevides est titulaire d'une licence en économie (2013) de l'Université fédérale du Ceará. Depuis lors, il a commencé ses études sur l'économie du football, avec un large éventail de travaux publiés dans des congrès et des articles internationaux. Il a été chercheur au CNPQ/BRAZIL pendant 4 ans, analysant la chaîne d'approvisionnement du football au Brésil et en Angleterre.
