Carolyn Harris, a retired teacher, lives in Saint John, N.B. and is the author of The Garden Crew series. This charming story is about a disabled pig called Rosie (unfortunately destined for the factory). Rosie is given a second chance at life when the Garden Crew fall in love with her. Can the Garden Crew save her? Carolyn has taught Reading (English) to students of all levels and abilities. From reluctant readers in the Middle Schools to very eager and articulate nurses in the the School of Nursing Program in N.B. (Canadian Literature) She believes that all of us have been given the gift of stories-and with these wonderful stories, we are able to transport ourselves to another time and place, to learn about different cultures and people. We grow, empathize and understand friendships, courage, sacrifice and love. Believe it or not, the Garden Crew are experiencing all these things! Hopefully, this story will enlighten, entertain and give a moment of thought to all the beautiful animals on our planet.
