Charu Gupta is associate professor of history and the University of Delhi. She is the author of The Gender of Caste: Representing Dalits in Print (University of Washington Press, 2018) and Sexuality, Obscenity, Community: Women, Muslims and the Hindu Public in Colonial India (Permanent Black and Palgrave, 2001); and editor of Gendering Colonial India: Reforms, Print, Caste and Communalism (Orient Blackswan, 2012).
