T. R. Thorsen is a writer, composer, and technologist from Crozet, VA. He writes primarily in the speculative fiction genre. His first novel The Germans Have a Word for It was published in 2025. During the 2010s, he produced and engineered music for Virginia artists and was guitarist and songwriter for the band Mill, releasing two albums. He also co-wrote the stage musical The Leap.Outside of the arts, T. R. has worked as a computer scientist, most notably developing the first Internet stock trading system in 1994. He shares a small farm with his family, sports cars, and several cats.
