The Glass Bulldog (revised edition) Alison Huntingford One mistake can change your life.... Exeter 1833. In the shadow of a recent cholera outbreak and mourning the tragic death of his little sister Annie, young Tom Finnimore finds himself struggling in a grim new job. After a heated quarrel with his first love, Mary Ann, Tom makes a reckless decision - stealing a few chickens. Caught in the act, he's thrown into prison, enduring a harrowing sentence that leaves deep scars. Emerging from prison, Tom is given a second chance - with the girl he once loved. But life with the beautiful yet naïve Mary Ann soon crumbles, leaving Tom alone and heartbroken once again. It is the warm, compassionate widow Phyllis who offers him another glimpse of happiness. But when her family uncover the truth of Tom's criminal past, they do everything they can to drive him away. Years later, as Tom and Phyllis near retirement, a painful truth resurfaces: his past could now threaten their daughter's future and her chance at love. Can Tom finally find the peace and redemption he's been seeking all his life? A dramatic, emotional journey through grief, love & redemption.
