Autorenporträt
Dr. Cansu Yuksel Elgin is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Istanbul University-Cerrahpasa in Turkiye, with over a decade of clinical and research experience in glaucoma and anterior segment disorders. After earning her M.D. from Cerrahpasa Faculty of Medicine, she completed her ophthalmology residency at the same institution. She later pursued postdoctoral research at NYU Langone Medical Center, contributing to several high-impact projects on teleophthalmology, glaucoma progression, and AI in ophthalmic diagnostics. Dr. Elgin is a Fellow of both the European Board of Ophthalmology and the International Council of Ophthalmology. Her research interests span from surgical outcomes in trabeculectomy to the ethical and systemic implications of AI-driven ophthalmic care. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters and maintains active memberships in the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Turkish Ophthalmology Society, and the European Contact Lens Society.
