Novella eight - the constellations of Cancer and Leo and the stories of Karkinos the giant crab, Zosma the Nemean lioness, Astron the hydra, Aquila the eagle, Sagitta the arrow, and the constellation named after Herakles the Demi-God.The birth of Herakles was surrounded by controversy. Being the demi-god son of the King of all the gods, he found it difficult to live a routine life with his wife and children.Herakles was persecuted by Hera for being her husband Zeus's illegitimate son, and so he was inflicted by incessant painful headaches. He was told of a remedy by the oracle in Delphi, but before he could be cured, it required him to agree to take on many incredible tasks which were assigned to him by the local king. By completing these labours, he should be able to go on to live a long and fulfilling life. He later became immortal, and Herakles is forever remembered as a Greek Mythological hero for defeating the giant crab that became known as constellation Cancer. He also killed the man-eating lioness that became known as the constellation Leo. He slew the serpent of Lake Lerna, which is now known as the constellation Hydra. Herakles used an arrow now known as the constellation Sagitta to kill a giant eagle that became to be known as the constellation Aquila or "The Eagle".Herakles was finally accepted at Mount Olympus and was honoured with the constellation Herakles also known as Hercules.
Autorenporträt
Stephan De Jonghe Biography - I began my formal writing with a stage play titled "Death Warmed Up,' After being inspired by a close friend, Di Day, who I aided with her debut play as her stage manager. "Death Warmed up was a great learning experience for me and I appreciated the cast and crew who laboured with a stage production that lasted nearly three hours. I learned a lot from the experience and by the time the play was performed for second time it had been edited down to two hours. Everyone from cast, crew, and especially the audiences, had a great time, so I was inspired to write my next play "Death Warmed up." The one debuted better than the first so I quickly followed it up with a romantic comedy titled "A lovely lobster tale", and then a historical action sci-fi titled "The Culpeper Code". I also wrote one act plays with Free coffee getting the most recognition. A one act play that I wrote titled "Follicle Farm" became my inspiration for my first novel. The play was terrible, but the book that came from its ashes has received high praise and is described as a delightful and humourous fantasy adventure novel. It takes the reader on a whimsical journey into the microscopic world of the human body. It follows Bobby on a journey of self-discovery of how he tries to convince head-office to implement his discovery of how to reverse alopecia and greying hair. My next book, titled "Your concise guide to the meaning of life," comes from a lifelong habit of trying to help people get more meaning and enjoyment out of their lives. It is a serious book written in an easy-to-read style, with suggestions in point form so that the reader can improve their lives. It has received favourable reviews for a book of this genre. My interest level in Greek Mythology has been with me since I could read. I have also been fascinated with astronomy and astrology. Work, family and theatre have been my priorities, so until recently I've not been able to progress these interests. I now have four books published that combine these interests with another nine books in the pipeline. My website www.folliclefarm.com.au features my work and has some complimentary short stories set in the Follicle Farm universe. Enjoy. Stephan De Jonghe 28th of August 2024
