The Hand of Hamora is a unique adventure novel set in a fantasy world evocative of the Eastern Woodlands of ancient North America. In a sprawling world of monsters, heroes, sorcery, secrets and ancient legends come to life, it relates the adventures of Okona, a young Song-Maker, and Anisha, daughter of the high chieftain of the Sakooma, Okona's tribe. Okona desires nothing more than to wed the beautiful Anisha, but a terrifying storm disrupts the feast at which he was planning to ask her hand in marriage. What's more, the Hand of Hamora, a powerful relic that protects his people, is taken in the storm. Shortly, Okona finds himself among a group of warriors and Wise-women selected to retrieve the Hand from mysterious and sinister powers before his people are annihilated. Fortunately, his remarkable tutor, the Wise-woman Yahsi, is also on the journey. But he soon realizes her wisdom alone may not be enough to guide him. Racing against time and against terrors such as he has never known, Okona must face trials without and within, as he seeks to rescue his people and win the hand of his beloved Anisha, who turns out to have quite the adventure of her own.
