The greatest gift anyone can give themselves is knowing who and what they are at their 'essence', the ultimate portal where true healing takes place. This book is a vehicle to help access this space. It is a detailed and technical guide to alternative therapies that are used to help heal the mind. It covers seven different modalities that can be used as adjunct therapy, in formal and/ or clinical settings. The book also draws on the personal stories from the author's journey with each of the modalities discussed, highlighting their potential and power to heal. There are essentially two parts to every chapter:Part I tells a story about the author's struggle with debilitating psychological blocks and how the modality in question helped her overcome the blocks. Part II goes into the science and didactics that underlie each modality, with the intended goal to convince the reader of the efficacy of the modality in question.
