Once they fledge and can find their own food, he begins to attend concerts, slipping through the window of the concert hall and sitting on the curtain to observe the music. He discovers that his favorite music is not the classics or operas but Mariachi music. He and his wife go to Mariachi concerts in the Jardin (town square), where they delight in the various Mariachi groups. He brings his offspring to hear the free concerts. They love it and want to play the music. Both little ones chose the violin, his wife the trumpet, and he, guitar. They practice a lot, but have to find a singer, as they can only buzz and chirp. With much effort, the hummingbird family, along with the mocking bird, become a successful Mariachi band and make wonderful music together.
