This book is the results of study conducted in Korogwe District, Tanga region to determine impact of extended family on household poverty. In Tanzania Poverty is characterized by low income and expenditure, high mortality and morbidity, poor nutritional status, low education attainment, vulnerability to external shocks and exclusion from economic, social and political processes. As in many African countries, Tanzania extended families exist in both rural and urban areas.
