Journey through the complete Book of Leviticus with insightful commentary and a special focus on the Land of Israel. Includes the full, original Hebrew text with a clear English translation. Selected verses are transliterated from Hebrew into English to help you learn, read and understand Hebrew! Also included are high-quality color images and maps that highlight important archaeological finds and critical geographical information about the Land of Israel and beyond. Charts and timelines will help you simply and easily understand the timing of events and all the people mentioned throughout the book. Following the inspirational stories of Sefer Bereishit (Genesis) and the intense drama of Sefer Shemot (Exodus), it may superficially appear that Sefer Vayikra (Leviticus) doesn't continue to "pack the Biblical punch." The name "Leviticus" comes from Levi, the father of the priestly tribe, and much of its 27 chapters are devoted to describing the priestly rituals in great detail. Since most of these practices are not observed today (since we don't have the Holy Temple), some modern readers have difficulty finding practical significance in Sefer Vayikra, and thus miss out on its eternal values. Don't fall into this misconception! With a careful reading of the Book of Leviticus, you'll gain tremendous insights into mastering your lower inclinations and understand how you can serve God.
