This book showcases Francis for his political and civil leadership, the most fierce leader against the atrocities of savage, postmodern capitalism. Assuming that his reign is of this world, and that the pope's political program includes engaging with the grave problems facing the planet, the book examines the pontiff's humanitarian leadership positions. There are no appreciations here regarding either dogma or Catholic doctrine. Francis is a humanitarian leader inspired by all humanism, be it the Western humanism initiated by Erasmus of Rotherdam, or the Eastern humanism governed by the "Tao Te King" of Lao-Tse. Impacted by Francis' "humanism in action", this text would like to show the pontiff - a word meaning "bridge builder" - as a craftsman of understanding, general understanding of humanity, specific care for those who suffer and, in short, a global aspiration for peace and a happier, cleaner and kinder world.
