Bruce Sklarew, M.D., a psychiatrist and psychoanalyst, co-edited Analysts in the Trenches: Schools, Streets, and War Zones (Analytic Press, 2004), The Last Emperor: Multiple Takes (Wayne State University Press, 1998), and Bernardo Bertolucci: Interviews (University of Mississippi Press, 2000). He is the co-founder of Projections: A Journal for Movies and Mind and associate editor of The Journal for Applied Psychoanalytic Studies. An associate clinical professor of psychiatry at Howard University School of Medicine, he was a faculty member at the Baltimore-Washington Institute for Psychoanalysis. He is the chair of the Forum for Movies and Mind and the film programmer for meetings of the American Psychoanalytic Association. He was the principal investigator of the School-Based Mourning Project in Washington, D.C. and the initiator for Recover, an acute bereavement service at the DC Morgue. Myra Sklarew, former president of the artist community Yaddo and professor emerita of literature at American University, Washington, D.C., is the author of three chapbooks and seven collections of poetry, including Lithuania: New & Selected Poems and Harmless. Other publications include short fiction, Like a Field Riddled by Ants; essays, Over the Rooftops of Time; and a forthcoming work, Holocaust and the Construction of Memory. Her poetry has been recorded for the Contemporary Poet's Archives of the Library of Congress. In addition to writing, she studied biology at Tufts University, bacterial genetics and viruses at Cold Spring Harbor Biological Laboratory, and worked at Yale University School of Medicine studying frontal lobe function and delayed response memory in rhesus monkeys.
