Richard Dehan was the pseudonym of Clotilde Graves who was an Irish author and playwright. Born on June 3, 1863, in Ireland, she became a prominent figure in the literary world, particularly in London and New York City, where she enjoyed success as a playwright. Some of her notable works include A Field of Tares (1891), which explores themes of morality and societal expectations. In 1894, she published Maids in a Market Garden, which examines the lives of women working in the fields, reflecting Dehan's ongoing interest in exploring the lives and struggles of ordinary people. Her 1896 novel, A Well Meaning Woman, continues her exploration of complex female characters and the consequences of good intentions gone awry. Her most famous work, The Dop Doctor, garnered significant attention.
