This work explores whether the Last Judgement, as it existed in the medieval imagination, also exists in the modern science fiction world of Star Trek. Episodes from 'Star Trek: The Next Generation' are used for comparison. This Star Trek series was deliberately chosen because Gene Roddenberry, the creator of Star Trek, was still involved in it but no longer felt social pressure not to address certain topics.

Bernadette Pufler was born in 1981 in the Waldviertel region of Lower Austria. In 2016, she completed her studies in German philology at the University of Vienna. From 2013 to 2016, she wrote as a freelance journalist for an online magazine. This work combines her love of Middle High German and her affinity for science fiction.
