The Last Window is a poetic exploration of the tender truths that define our lives, often unnoticed yet profoundly influential. In this debut collection, each poem serves as a window, offering glimpses into the depths of our shared humanity. Whether peeling back layers with tender care or erupting like a wildfire, these verses uncover the beauty and strength that lie within us all. Divided into three parts, The Last Window takes readers on a journey mirroring the natural ebb and flow of life's experiences. The poems pulse with the rhythm of existence, capturing moments of clarity, doubt, and revelation. As you progress through the collection, you're invited to gaze through this final window, to peer into the shadows and find the radiant truth that has always been waiting on the other side. This collection is not just a series of poems, but a transformative journey home - a call to see beyond the surface and to embrace the light that emerges from darkness. The Last Window resonates with anyone seeking to feel understood within the complexities of life, offering a powerful reminder that beyond the surface, there is a singular truth of infinite beauty that we are all connected by.

Autorenporträt
Born in Serbia, Iva moved to New Zealand with her parents and sister in 1996 when she was 8 years old. Without knowing any English, she struggled to find her voice in an alien world. A few years later while attending Epsom Girls Grammar School, she found creative writing and used it fortify all her wounds into a weapon of words she would use to finally paint the burdens, beauty and battles of her humaneness. As she grew older, her writing evolved with her as she went on to get a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Creative Writing from AUT University. She was runner up in Divine Muses Emerging poets in 2018, and has had her poems published in A Fine Line and Massey Universities Poetry Yearbook New Zealand.
