The book describes the Western Christian mission in India from the Indigenous peoples' perspective. In other words, it is the story of those who responded to the Christian gospel proclaimed by Western missionaries and then embraced/embodied/developed it within the context of India. The book is a collection of biographies telling the stories of 42 Indian Mennonite Brethren church leaders. Each biography details these local leaders' upbringing, education, calling to Christian service, and contribution to the life and ministry of the Mennonite Brethren Church in India.
