Coleman is the former publisher of newsprism.com, a news portal that ranked 500 media outlets based on their political orientation, and realstupidnews.com, an award-winning news satire site that "s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-d the truth, so you get more!" He was the official announcer at the 2004 Libertarian National Convention in Atlanta, Georgia. A professor of communication, Coleman enjoys a quiet life on Maryland's Eastern Shore with his wife, dogs, guitar, and kayak, in that order. He's the winner of numerous awards including The Robert Bostrum Award for Outstanding Research; the Ann Matthews Purdy Award for Outstanding Full Time Faculty Member; the NISOD Excellence Award; and Best Overall Satire at TheSatireAwards.com. Coleman holds bachelor's and master's degrees in journalism from the University of Georgia and a doctorate in media studies from the University of Iowa.
