Anita Mohammed was born in Trinidad and moved to Montreal, Canada when she was eleven months old. The Misery of December is her debut novel. She currently resides in Toronto with her husband and two daughters. Like her protagonist, Anara Ali, Anita is a loud and proud December Capricorn.
