John McGrath died in 2002, after a long career of making political theatre. The monologue Hyperlynx was written shortly before his death, around the time of the anti-capitlist demonstrations in Genoa. It was performed at the Pleasance Dome as part of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August 2002.
