This official museum guide to the Münter House, popularly known as the 'Russian House,' explores various aspects of the lives of Gabriele Münter (1877-1962) and Wassily Kandinsky (1866-1944) in Murnau. One chapter is devoted to the garden, which Kandinsky designed and tended with great dedication. The functions of the Münter House as a place of creativity and as a meeting place for important personalities from the circle of the 'Blauer Reiter' are also discussed in detail. Another chapter provides insight into Münter's life in the house from 1931 onwards, the year in which she finally settled there.
