Kirk A. Burpee is an American author, U.S. Navy veteran, mountaineer, and Emmy-nominated filmmaker. Raised in Seattle, he overcame early hardship and went on to build a diverse career spanning military service, documentary film, wine consulting, and over 700 mountain climbs from Alaska to Patagonia. His transition into fiction began at the encouragement of his late wife, Kat, inspiring stories known for their cinematic style, historical depth, and moral complexity. Burpee is the author of four novels, including Sherlock Holmes and the Tower of Fear, and continues to write new works from the American West.
