When American businessman Carter Weston receives an invitation to help modernize Nigeria's telecommunications infrastructure, he sees opportunity. What he doesn't see is the trap. Drawn into a web of offshore banking, corrupt officials, and shadowy intermediaries, Carter soon discovers the deal isn't about technology-it's about power. What begins as a business venture spirals into an international game of deception, with millions of dollars-and lives-at stake. From the elite corridors of Lagos to a desperate escape through Casablanca, The Nigerian Deception is a gripping geopolitical thriller inspired by true events. For fans of The Constant Gardener, The Bourne Identity, and The Firm, this debut novel by Lee Feigum delivers suspense, smart intrigue, and the high-octane edge of modern global risk.
Born in Seattle, Washington, I've spent the majority of my adult life rooted in the dynamic and ever-evolving Pacific Northwest. After graduating from Pasco High School in Pasco, Washington, I pursued higher education at Washington State University, where my curiosity about the world and its possibilities began to take deeper shape. In the early 1960s, fresh out of college and driven by a sense of duty and adventure, I enlisted in the United States Army. My time in uniform not only instilled discipline and broadened my worldview-it also reinforced a long-standing passion: photography. After completing my military service, I turned that passion into a thriving business. What began as a modest venture quickly expanded into a multi-faceted commercial photography enterprise, featuring two portrait studios, a pioneering aerial crop-monitoring service utilizing infrared photography, and a full-service commercial printing operation capable of producing vibrant, high-quality brochures. I piloted single-engine aircraft myself, capturing construction progress at nuclear facilities and monitoring farmland from the skies-long before drone technology made it commonplace. As the digital revolution began to reshape industries in the late 20th century, I saw another opportunity on the horizon. I transitioned into real estate, a field that allowed me to combine my visual sensibilities, entrepreneurial experience, and people skills. Today, I remain active in both residential and commercial real estate across Washington State, helping clients navigate markets that are constantly shifting-much like the world itself.Over the years, I've had the privilege of traveling extensively throughout the United States and visiting several foreign countries. These journeys have given me a front-row seat to the changing tides of history, technology, and culture. It's been a remarkable ride-and it's far from over.
