'Raised in conservative Virginia, this author had to move to a more progressive Atlanta, Georgia to discover himself. He is an emotional romantic who looks at life just left of center and who believes that all things are possible. To maintain his sanity and escape the rat race of the city, he is moving to Zihuatanejo, on the southern west coast of Mexico, where he plans to continue to paint, write and practice piano.' Yes. The plan was to retire early at 62 and then move down to Mexico in 2008 after getting the house built. Unfortunately, the housing crash happened in 2008 and I had to continue to work part-time till I could sell the house in Decatur. That didn't happen until May of 2013. What can I say? It is now 2025 and I am actually located about 50 miles up the coast from Zihuatanejo. Love it. It's Forever Summer here. This picture here of me was taken back in around 2005 and was on the back cover of the original publication. At that time, I was working for Publix Supermarkets in the seafood department in Atlanta. Since I was handling food, I was not allowed to have a beard. I didn't start growing my beard back until I finally fully retired in June of 2013.
