In 2015, at the age of 51, I was involved in an accident that left me a quadriplegic. Quite an unusual accident. My recovery started with two days on a ventilator, nine days in intensive care and 6 1/2 months in a rehabilitation hospital. Mine is not a tragic story. My story is about perseverance and keeping a positive attitude. My wife, Sarah, never left my side, often times literally. We decided immediately that we would not wallow in sadness. Rather, we would try to lift others up. My story is also about the people that helped me along the way; family, doctors, nurses, therapists and many others. God was with me as well. I had many miraculous things occur during my journey that I believe only He could have made them possible. My recovery is never ending, and I continue to have numerous interactions with Medical personal to this day. My hope is that my story will inspire others.
